About this project

Trails.scot was developed by the Data Education in Schools (https://dataschools.education/) team at the University of Edinburgh in partnership with the Scottish Government, Education Scotland and the SQA. The project was funded by Responsible AI Uk (https://rai.ac.uk/skills-and-innovation/) and the Scottish Government.

The team members are:

Professor Judy Robertson (project lead)

Based in Moray House School of Education and Sport and the School of Informatics, Judy’s recent work is on how children and teachers can learn data literacy and AI skills.

Dr Serdar Abaci

Serdar’s research interests include AI, data and digital literacies, formative assessment and feedback, online learning, and evaluation of teaching and learning technologies. He leads on evaluation for the project.

Kate Farrell

Kate leads the development of AI resources and professional learning opportunities. She loves to design escape rooms and board games.

Dr Jasmeen Kanwal

Jasmeen is a Project Officer on this project, focusing on curriculum development and professional learning. She leads on responsible research and innovation for the project.

Antonia Sewell

Antonia is a Project Officer for the Data Education in Schools Project, focusing on developing resources for use within schools about AI literacy. Ask her about Blorps and Glixers.

Jo Spiller

Jo helps out with operations and logistics on the project.
